Reverend Morices eminent and substantial contributions to anthropology and history, more particularly to Aboriginal linguistics, did much to further early understandings of Canadian and Aboriginal culture in the west. He published two large volumes on the language and grammar of the Carrier Indians in 1932. This marked the conclusion of more than fifty years of studying the manner, customs, and languages of the Aboriginal peoples of the North West, and particularly of British Columbia. A prolific researcher and scholar, Father Morice also taught some of the first classes focusing on Aboriginal peoples at the U of S.
