From being the first student in a wheelchair to graduate from the U of S with a degree in Physical Education to winning bronze at the 2006 Paralympics in Turin, Italy, Collette Bourgonje has always set her sights high. After a car accident in 1980, Colette focused her athletic determination on the emerging sport of sit-skiing. Her focus has led her to numerous national and world championships, as well as four Paralympic games at which she won a number of medals.
