Potato varieties

Potato variety trials and recently released varieties.

Potato variety trials are conducted annually by the Vegetable Program to supply Saskatchewan's potato growers with information on cultivar performance under local growing conditions.

Standard potato varieties and recently introduced varieties are evaluated. Yearly data and long term average data based on 5-10 years of tests are available.

Varieties in development

New lines of Norland developed from spontaneous chimeras
Lines of Norland with superior skin color and common scab tolerance were developed from spontaneously occuring chimeras.
