Camps for kids ages 6-8

Old World Apprentices: July 3-7

Come and train as an Old World Apprentice! This week the Adventurers will train to become a master of the ancient sciences. They will learn all about old world alchemy and science in this fun and interactive camp. Be prepared to learn how to make your own medieval potions and cast your own spells. Learn all about the stars in the night sky, and the science behind the ancient pyramids of Egypt.

Folklore and Fairytales: July 10-14

Learn all about the folk tales and fantastical stories from around the world during our Folklore & Fairytales camp. We will be exploring the myths from ancient Greece and Rome, and the fairytales of the Middle Ages. Visits from mythological characters, a quest to save a princess, and manuscript making, this week is one for the books! Become the creator of your own myths, legends, and fairytales during this enchanting camp for young Adventurers.

Knights, Lords and Ladies: July 17-21

*Due to popularity, this camp will be offered twice*

Become a member of the Royal Court! This week will take the Adventurers on a quest to become the best Knights, Lords, and Ladies in the realm. During the week, we will learn how to build our own castles, fight off dragons, and create marshmallow catapults. Complete with live sword-fighting demonstrations, a visit from a Knight, and a hunt for the King’s treasure, this week is sure to go down in history!

Time Travelers: July 24-28

Get ready to travel throughout the ancient world in our brand new camp! This camp will take us throughout history as we visit cultures from around the world. The Adventurers will get to meet some of their favorite historical figures as we learn about the music, stories, art, and mythology from places all across the globe. Throughout the week, the Adventurers will get to build a time machine and go on a treasure hunt throughout time! We will be exploring places like ancient Japan, China, Korea, India, Polynesia, South and Central America, and Africa.

Fun with Pharaohs: July 31 - August 4

*Due to popularity, this camp will be offered twice*

What would it have been like to be a kid in Ancient Egypt? Join us as we discover what it was like to dress, eat and work like an Ancient Egyptian in this brand new camp! The Adventurers will have the chance to create their very own Egyptian mummy, musical instruments, and even a gigantic Egyptian pyramid. We will learn how to “Walk Like an Egyptian” as we have Fun with Pharaohs!

Myths, Monsters and Legends: July 3-7

Myths, Monsters, Legends, oh my! This fun and interactive camp will give the Adventurers an opportunity to become their own heroes. They will receive training from a Knight, learn how to fight off monsters, and become legends of their own stories. From Hercules and Medusa to Robin Hood and his Merry Men, explore the magical legends of mystical beings and fantastical creatures in this spellbinding camp for Adventurers.

Magewarts School of Magic and Science: July 10-14

*Due to popularity, this camp will be offered thrice!*

Open to witches, wizards, and muggles alike! Has your child ever wanted to experience the wonders of the Wizarding World? Are they interested in the science behind the magic? The Adventurers will learn all about how the ancient world worked through medicine, astronomy, and more in this fun and engaging camp. This week will provide all that with fun activities like making your own wand, mixing potions, casting spells, making pigments, and more! While we can't promise that your child will become a real wizard, we can guarantee that this week at the Magewarts School of Magic and Science will be one thing: magical!

Around the World in 5 Days: July 17-21

Make sure to grab your passport! This week will take the Adventurers on a fun and exciting trip around the ancient world! The Adventurers will embark on a cultural journey that includes an exploration of music, history, languages, art, and mythology from all across the globe. We will be exploring places like ancient Japan, China, Korea, India, Polynesia, South and Central America, and Africa. This is a week that you won’t want to miss!

Raiders of the Lost Artifact: July 24-28

We will dig into the ancient past with this fun and interactive new camp! The Adventurers will get the chance to learn what it means to be an archaeologist from the Museum professionals. We will learn about the tools and techniques used to uncover ancient civilizations. The Adventurers will get a chance to make their own frescos and beautiful pottery. We will even search for buried artifacts underwater! This week will be one for the history books!

Camp Olympia-The Games of the Gods: July 31 - August 4

For our more adventurous campers, we are now offering a camp that lets your child participate in a week long Olympics! Join us as we learn the games of the gods from all around the globe. We will show off our skills as we play the Viking throwing game Kubb! The Adventurers will race to victory as we learn about the history of the Olympics, and we try our hand at discus, footraces, long jump, and more! At Camp Olympia, everyone is a winner!

The early bird registration fee per child is $235.00 up to Monday, May 1, 2017.  After May 1, 2017, the registration fee will be $260.00 per child.  Early bird registration and payment must be received no later than May 1, 2017.

Completed registration documentation and payment must be received to secure the child's place in the camp.  

A $50 non-refundable fee will be applied if a cancellation is made less than a week before the selected camp is scheduled to begin. Cancellation during a camp will result in the Museum of Antiquities retaining $100.00 from the registration fee and the remainder will be refunded. If the cancellation is on the Wednesday of the camp or after, no refund will be given.

Extended Care will be available for the whole week for $30.  It runs from 8:30-9:00am and 4:00-4:30pm.
