University History Essay Award
The University of Saskatchewan Archives is pleased to announce the establishment of an annual award for outstanding essays on the history of the University of Saskatchewan.
A first prize of $500.00 and a second prize of $250.00 will be awarded. The first and second prize winning essays will be published by the University Archives.
The essays must be on some aspect of the University's history, but that guideline should be broadly interpreted to include essays on individual members of the faculty, staff, or alumni; organizations; research; buildings and architecture; the University's relationship with the community; curriculum; responses to societal change; etc.
All submissions must be original work--previously unpublished--and all must meet standard academic criteria (references and sources cited, etc.)
Referees will be members of the University faculty; the University Archives' staff will be responsible for ensuring blind reviews of all submissions. The awards may not be given in any particular year if the referees should so determine.
All submissions must be typed, double spaced, and not to exceed 40 pages in length, and submitted in triplicate.
This competition is open to everyone, except employees of the University of Saskatchewan Archives or the faculty referees.
Submission deadline is 1 October each year.
All submissions will become part of the University Archives' holdings and will be made available to researchers.
The University Archives reserves the right to republish any submissions at a later date.
For more information, please contact the University Archives by e-mail or phone 306-966-6028.
Submissions should be sent to:

301 Main Library
