White Buffalo Family - A Photovoice project


The University of Saskatchewan’s Community Engagement office, Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching Effectiveness (GMCTE) Indigenous Voices project and White Buffalo Youth Lodge collaborated to produce a photo voice project in April 2014. Photo voice projects are used as a tool for communication, self-expression and advocacy.

Community Engaged Scholar Discussion Group offers Important Lessons that Cross Disciplines


The 2013-2014 Community Engaged Scholar Discussion Groups are nearly complete.  We have featured diverse scholars including (but not limited to) Marie Lovrod (ICCC and English) Chelsea Willness (ESB), Robert Innes (Native Studies) , Lalita Bharadwaj (SPH)  and Claire Thomson (History). In each presentation, we have heard the stories of how scholars became community engaged, the methods they use to effectively work with various community partners and students, and a variety of other questions pressing on the minds of attendees, including, how to prepare for tenure and promotion with community-engaged work.

International Women’s Day 2014


We were pleased to support and participate in a celebration of International Women’s Day 2014 alongside community members, professionals, students and scholars. It was a lively afternoon focused on the crucial importance of reproductive health, childcare, and honouring local and international roles of women. The event endeavoured to provoke collaboration, cultivate solidarity and celebrate the work already happening, both locally and internationally.
