ICT Strategy Overview
ICT Strategy is our long term plan
of action – how ICT should be used to enable the university to achieve
its goals. How should ICT be used as part of our institutional business
strategy. How we do it is a matter of tactics; whether it should be done
at all is a matter of strategy. The U of S ICT strategy is described in
the ICT Foundational Document
.
Our ICT architecture supports and enables the implementation of strategy. It is the framework in which we execute our strategy. In our federated model many colleges and administrative units have their own IT staff, their own IT responsibilities and their own IT priorities. We work with the unit leaders to ensure that local needs are addressed within an institution-wide technology strategy and that local systems are accommodated within the institution-wide architecture.
