Prior to joining the University of Saskatchewan Mark was the Principal Consultant of 22over7, a higher education IT management consulting organization. Clients included universities from across Canada and services focused on strategic IT planning and review. He was previously the President and Chief Executive Officer of CANARIE (Canada's Research and Innovation Network).
Mark was also the Chief Information Officer at the University of Victoria for many years where he led the information technology strategy transformation. He has been the Chair of the Board of BCNET (our province's research network) and Treasurer of CUCCIO (Canadian Council of Chief Information Officers).
Before joining the University of Victoria, he was the Executive Director of Enterprise Systems at Carleton University and prior to that worked at senior levels in the private sector. He holds a B.Math (Computer Science) from the University of Waterloo, an M.B.A. from Queen’s University and is also a certified P.M.P. (Project Management Professional).
