The Delta Bessborough Hotel is located in downtown Saskatoon at 601 Spadina Crescent E. (S7K 3G8). The Bessborough is Saskatoon's chateau-style "Castle on the River". It is only a 2.2 km scenic walk (or taxi ride) along the South Saskatchewan River bank and across University Bridge to campus. The hotel has excellent facilities and is within walking distance of many restaurants and major attractions.
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Delta Bessborough Hotel. Standard single occupancy is available for $90 per night plus taxes; standard double occupancy is $95.00. Saskatoon is a very busy place in the summer and hotel reservations should be made ASAP. To guarantee a room in the block, please make your reservation before May 10 and indicate that you are with "Plant Biology Canada '99 ". Quality dormitory accommodation is available on campus within 20 minutes walking distance of the Delta Bessborough Hotel. See Campus and Area Map. The scientific program will include three symposia, contributed oral presentations (15 minutes), and a poster session. Student participation is strongly encouraged. The meeting is a venue for the discussion of "work in progress" as well as completed projects. Supervisors should encourage students to attend and to discuss their research. DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACTS IS MAY 10.

Poster Sessions Posters can be set up on Sunday, June 20, 9:00 a.m. through to 3:00 p.m. and will remain in place until noon, Wednesday, June 23, at which time they must be dismantled. The poster must fit within 4 x 4 feet. Please provide your own mounting materials (eg. pins).
CSPP is making available a limited number of travel awards to foster graduate student participation in our annual meeting, June 19 to 23, 1999. The awards are intended for those students who will be presenting an oral paper at the Saskatoon meeting and who are currently members of CSPP. Based on cost, preference will be given to students travelling the furthest and who study in institutions east of Manitoba. The maximum, individual award is $ 500.00. The application form will be distributed in the printed version of the Bulletin and the call for abstracts. The form is available on this website. See Student Travel Award Application Deadline for receipt of applications is April 19, 1999. Awards are contingent upon the recipient attending and presenting an oral paper at the Saskatoon meeting.
