When does the University Bookstore buy back textbooks?
The Bookstore buys back used textbooks in-store on a year-round basis.
Will you buy back all my textbooks?
BuyBack titles and rates are determined based on:
- Nationwide demand for the textbook
- Whether the Instructor is reusing the text in the next term
- Projected needs for the text
Can I sell those textbooks you don’t buy to anyone else?
Yes. We also buy back books for ICBB (Inter-Collegiate Book Buyback). We give 50% of the new price for used books on our list. ICBB has a larger list, but gives you less money for your books than if we had bought them.
What time of year is the busiest for textbook buybacks?
We do a large buyback before and during the beginning of each new term: August-September, December-January and April. At high-volume times, the Bookstore will set up a secondary BuyBack location in Upper Place where students can take their books.
The next scheduled BuyBack times are:
- April 14 – 17; 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
- April 21 – 25, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
I’ve heard about an app I can use to see what my textbooks are worth. Where can I find it?
Use our Textbook BuyBack Search Engine to see which textbooks we are currently buying back.
You can also search this list by downloading our "Sell Books" App onto your Apple or Android device. Scan your textbook's barcode or type in the ISBN to find out if we will buy your textbook and how much it's worth.
