When does the University Bookstore buy back textbooks?
The Bookstore buys back used textbooks in-store on a year-round basis.
Will you buy back all my textbooks?
The list of textbooks we buy varies in length depending on the time of year. Once we reach our capacity on a certain title, we don’t buy it until it sells and we have capacity again. You can search the textbooks we buy back here: https://bookstore.usask.ca/books.php?search_age=buyback
Can I sell those textbooks you don’t buy to anyone else?
Yes. We also buy back books for ICBB (Inter-Collegiate Book Buyback). We give 50% of the new price for used books on our list. ICBB has a larger list, but gives you less money for your books then if we had bought them.
What time of year is the busiest for textbook buybacks?
We do a large buyback before and during the beginning of each new term: August-September, December-January and April. August is our busiest period, and that buyback is run by Follett Higher Education Group. They setup outside of the Bookstore, and when they are running it, they purchase for us first until our lists our full, and then they will purchase for themselves but again at a lower rate. This term, Follett buyback runs Monday to Friday, December 12 to January 11.
I’ve heard about an app I can use to see what my textbooks are worth. Where can I find it?
Download our handy buyback app. Simply scan your textbook's barcode or type in the ISBN to find out if we will buy your textbook and how much it's worth. This app will not work on the U of S Bookstore's sticker, please remove the sticker and use the book's barcode.
