The task of the Communications Advisory Council (CAC) is to:
- facilitate the development of strategic communications goals, and
- serve the need for institutional leadership in the co-ordination of communications
Specifically, the CAC is responsible to lead and implement the recommendations of the Communications Review Task Force and to:
- Provide increased collaboration, coordination and leadership for communications
- Build awareness, understanding and support for the university's strategic directions
- Identify key areas of need and priority
- Develop clear measures of progress for all activities and initiatives
- Honor and celebrate existing and new initiatives and successes in professional communications
- Develop a series of university policies, procedures and guidelines for campus communicators to outline expectations and provide problem-solving mechanisms
- Coordinate the posting and sharing of materials among communicators to increase opportunities for collaboration and alignment
