The Centre for Discovery in Learning, in conjunction with the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching Effectiveness and the Vice-Provost, are proud to host the 3rd Annual Symposium for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning on April 29 and 30. The theme of the syposium is "Celebrating the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning" and will feature keynote speakers Dan Bernstein (Director of the University of Kansas Centre for Teaching and Learning, and past-President of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning) and Patti McDougall (the Vice-Provost Teaching and Learning of the University of Saskatchewan).
Post-SoTL Symposium Workshop: A Brief Introduction to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
On the second afternoon of the SoTL Symposium (Tuesday, April 30th, from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM), participants are invited to attend a Post-SoTL Symposium workshop that provides a brief introduction to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). This workshop will be led by Marcel D'Eon, associate professor in the College of Medicine, and Krista Trinder, research coordinator for the Educational Support and Development in the College of Medicine. Topics will include the purpose of SoTL, researchable questions, study design, data collection and analysis, going public, and knowledge translation.

ISSOTL13:"Critical Transitions in Teaching and Learning"
The International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning will hold its 10th annual conference in Raleigh, North Carolina, on October 2-5. The conference will be hosted by Elon University's Centre for Engaged Learning and the theme is "Critical Transitions in Teaching and Learning." Proposals must be submitted by March 18.
