PhD or Master's Opportunity in Civil & Geological Engineering

Several projects are available that focus on large-scale experimental testing of reinforced masonry and concrete members and structures.
Students will be associated with the Department of Civil & Geological Engineering and those with a focus on masonry will also be associated with the Saskatchewan Centre for Masonry Design.
Students will be exposed to experimental work in the laboratory and the subsequent reduction and analysis of test data. They will gain exposure to Candian standards for the testing, design and construction of these materials. Students will obtain experience related to construction and testing techniques, makign observations of physical distress, and the interpretation of numerical test data.
Students with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, with an emphasis in structural engineering, are enciuraged to apply. Students must also be able to demonstrate English language proficiency, in accordance with the minimum requirements for admission as set by the College of Graduate Studies and Research (www.usask.ca/cgsr/admission/language.php).
Starting Date: September 2014 or January 2015
Stipend: A stipend is available to aid in the completion of the program.
