Animal & Poultry Science
Taking advantage of world-leading facilities and international recognized faculty, the Department of Animal and Poultry Science provides graduate students with unparallel opportunities during their studies.
Our graduate programs provide advanced studies and research in major fields:
- Nutrition
- Physiology
- Genetics
- Management and behaviour of farm and companion animals.
Many supporting courses are also available in other departments.
For admission and degree requirements, please see the University Catalogue.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Students applying for the programs are encouraged to explore the research expertise of our faculty and contact faculty members directly to inquire about their willingness to act a potential supervisor.
Send the following to the Graduate Chair in the Department of Animal and Poultry Science:
- Two official copies of your academic transcript(s): photocopies are fine at the time of initial application.
- Three letters of recommendation, with at least one from a professor familiar with your scholarly work.
- A curriculum vitae or resume
- All candidates must also submit a brief statement of research interest.
FUNDING AND SCHOLARSHIPS
In their applications, students should identify their financial status and state if attendance is contingent on receiving financial aid. The department employs graduate students as marking assistants and a limited number of scholarships, research fellowships and teaching assistantships are available. There is a keen competition for this financial support. Applications for Departmental Scholarships, Research Fellowships and Teaching Assistantships may only be submitted after a student has been admitted.
