Program Requirements

To be considered "interdisciplinary" individual programs will integrate course work and research into a concise program that crosses two or more disciplines, and that is not available within the traditional academic setting. 

InterD students will create their individualized program of studies with their supervisor and committee members.  Interdisciplinary Studies does have 3 standard program requirements:

STANDARD PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

1.  INTD 994 - Masters Students      or/

     INTD 996 - PhD Student

Students must be registered in one of these every fall, winter & spring term until the student has successfully defended their thesis.

 

2.  GSR 960 - Mandatory Grad Studies Ethics - all grad students must register and complete this online course

     GSR 961 - Ethics online course if research involves human subjects (if applicable)

     GSR 962 - Ethics online course if research involves animal subjects (if applicable)

 

3.  INTD 990

Students must be registered in this every seminar every fall & winter term until defense.  Masters students must attend a minimum of 6 seminars and make a presentation at 1 seminar.  PhD students must attend a minimum of 9 seminars and make 2 presentations. 

All students must write a thesis and complete their thesis defence succesfully.  Masters students have 5 years to complete, and PhD students have 6 years to complete,
