Board of Governors approves a 4.5% increase for graduate student assistants
On March 5, 2013, the Board of Governors approved increases for teaching and research assistant positions for UofS students. A 2.5% increase for undergrad student assistants and a 4.5% increase for graduate student assistants effective May 1, 2013. The following is a summary of the new rates:
Hourly Rates for Student Assistants - Effective May 1, 2013

Students paid from operating funds will automatically receive these new rates on their May pay. The central funding support for college/unit student pools will be increased by 2.5% for undergraduate and 4.5% for graduate students, effective for the 2013/2014 budget year, for student salaries funded by the operating budget.
Principal investigators who employ students also have the option of increasing to these new rates effective May 1, 2013. A separate memo will be sent to those departments requesting a decision on the rate increase.
