The Opportunity:
Postdoctoral Postiion in Biomedical Proteomics and Glycobiology.

The Project:
An opportunity exists for a Postdoctoral Fellow to investigate carbohydrates of lactadherin and other milk proteins that inhibit attachment of E. coli to intestinal mucosa. This investigation is based on discoveries made in our research lab investigating porcine neonatal diarrhea and will involve advanced protein biochemistry techniques (isolation and purification), proteomics, glycobiolgy and various functional bacterial adhesion assays.

The ideal candidate for this position would be a postdoctoral fellow with a recent Ph.D. degree in protein and/or carbohydrate biochemistry capable of conducting the above-stated research independently or with minimal supervision.

Starting Date:  April 15, 2010, or once a suitable candidate is found.

Stipend:  The stipend will be commensurate with the candidate's expereince (range $32,500 to $40,000/year)
