The Project:
The project will include a review of the literature on peer‐to‐peer mentoring approaches in health as well as an environmental scan of North American peer‐to‐peer mentoring approaches specifically for HIV+ women during their pregnancies. The literature review and environmental scan will identify promising program designs, common considerations and challenges, as well as outcomes for participants and their children. The student researcher will also develop a plan for a needs assessment to be conducted by the SPI with HIV+ women in their childbearing years to obtain their ideas of what kinds of peer‐to‐peer mentoring approaches would be beneficial.
