The Project:
The department of Computer Science seeks highly qualified applicants interested in all areas of research in Computer Science. The diverse research interests of our faculty include, but are not limited to: Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Computer Graphics, Computer Networks, Computer Vision, Concurrency, Distributed Systems, Educational Technology, Health Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction, Image Understanding, Software Engineering, Performance Evaluation, Programming Languages, Robotics, Scientific Computing, Sensor Networks, Social Computing, Theory of Computation, Ubiquitous Computing, and Usability.
Qualifications:
M.Sc. applicants must hold a four-year degree in computer science with high standing. Students with other backgrounds may also be considered for admittance in exceptional circumstances, but may be required to take additional background courses. Ph.D. applicants must hold an M.Sc. in computer science or an equivalent background, possess an academic average of at least 80% (or equivalent), and show an ability to conduct independent research. Students applying to either program who have not completed a degree in an English-speaking country must demonstrate a TOEFL score of at least 90 (IBT) or an IELTS score of at least 7.0.Starting Date:
Programs of study may begin in either September or January. To begin September 1, applications must be received by February 15 of the same calendar year. To begin January 1, applications must be received by July 30 of the preceding calendar year.
Stipend: The normal stipend levels are $16,000/yr for M.Sc. students and $19,000/yr for Ph.D. students.
