The Project:
Proline is an unique amino acid and the peptides involved with proline resist to the general proteolysis enzymes. Proline-specific peptidases are, therefore, unique from other peptidases. In this project, Pro-Xaa dipeptidase is studies in order to reveal the difference and similarity to general peptidases and Xaa-Pro dipeptidase. The research will utilize a wide range of modern biotechnological methods, including X-ray crystallography, genetic engineering, molecular modeling, and enzymology techniques.
