The Project:
The research project will focus on vaccine development to combat Salmonella infection and subsequent transmission. Students will be trained in basic microbiology, molecular biology, protein and polysaccharide purification, basic immunology and modern vaccinology approaches. Work will be performed at VIDO, a large, multidisciplinary research institute (www.vido.org).
Qualifications:
I am interested in applications from students who are eligible for the U of S - China DSP. Students should have a BSc in Microbiology, Biochemistry or Biotechnology. Experience working in a research laboratory is not a requirement but is considered an asset.
Starting Date:
2011: the exact date will be determined when a suitable candidate has been identified.
Stipend: Depending on qualifications: $4,000/yr, on top of the CSC scholarship
