Masters Opportunity in transplant immunology and autoimmunity

The Project:
The lab is dedicated in translational research in organ transplantation and autoimmune diseases. The studying subjects are patients, normal healthy controls and mice. There are two major projects:

  1. To find out why some patients are easier to generate antibodies to human leukocytes antigen (HLA) and therefore easier to reject their transplanted organ.
  2. To find out the underline mechanisms for HLA and autoantigens in inflammatory diseases. The goals for both projects are to generate better biomarkers for disease diagnosis and new targets for therapeutic purposes. The lab has very strong connections to clinical labs in Saskatoon Health Region and Saskatchewan kidney transplant program. The training and experience will be great for someone who wants a clinical carear pathway.

Qualifications:

B.S. in biomedical related field is required; Any degree, background and experience in immunology are highly preferred.

 

Starting Date: as soon as possible

Stipend: $15,000 per year
