POST-DOCTORAL POSITIONS
Research PROJECTS to investigate the metabolism of biologically active secondary metabolites require postdoctoral fellows: (1) Ph. D. in Bioorganic/Biological Chemistry or related field, a strong background in fungal and plant enzyme isolation/characterization, extensive experience with HPLC analysis (diode array and ESI-ion trap mass detectors), and isotope use; (2) Ph. D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry or related field, experience with heterocycle synthesis, cold isotope labelling, and HPLC analysis (previous experience in biosynthesis of plant metabolites is an asset). Additionally, positions require experience in developing biological assays to determine bioactivity (antifungal, antibacterial, phytotoxic, cytotoxic) of secondary metabolites. The successful applicants must have proven expertise in spectroscopic techniques necessary for chemical structure elucidation, particularly modern high field NMR spectroscopy and LC-MS. The required qualifications should be evidenced by a strong international publication record in the field.
Candidates should send electronic application and CV (pdf files only!), and provide names, e-mail addresses, and telephone numbers of three referees to Dr. M.S.C. PEDRAS, to the address shown above.
