| The Help Yourself Online website and associated treatment materials are available to interested colleagues for research and clinical purposes (where no fee is charged to patients or to an insurer for the clinical service). Help Yourself Online was created by Dr Carrie Hicks in 2000-2001. Numerous CD-ROM and web-based treatment programs have been developed by other groups since that time. Prospective users are encouraged to investigate these. HELP YOURSELF ONLINE Help Yourself Online is a 7-week distance treatment program for children 9 to 16 years of age with recurrent abdominal pain and/or headaches. It uses interactive web pages, e-mail, and telephone contact with children and their parents, with no requirement for office visits. Please note that the website itself is not a stand alone treatment, but rather a framework around which a program can be delivered.
