This two day course addresses issues of acute myocardial infarction
recognition, diagnosis and management, fibrinolysis, and cardiac arrest
management as per guidelines established by the American Heart
Association and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. An ACLS
Provider Manual and the American Heart Association Handbook of
Emergency Cardiovascular Care is provided for pre-study at this course.
Extensive testing in simulated megacode scenarios is an integral part
of this advanced care course. Both provider and re-registration courses
are offered. Re-registration is recommended every two years. BLS-C in the last 12-months A selections committee at the Heart and Stroke Foundation of
Saskatchewan selects eligible candidates based on perceived need for
instructors within Saskatchewan and advises of the need for a course.
This course explores effective ways to teach ACLS students and
evaluates probationary instructors on their abilities to lecture, guide
small group sessions, integrate adult education principles, and
objectively evaluate others. This one day course held every two to three years, is an attendance
requirement for all ACLS Instructors in Saskatchewan. Newer and more
effective methods of teaching ACLS students, plus updated topics
