Major conferences are held in larger urban Saskatchewan centres and are publicized to target audience physicians and allied health professionals throughout the province, and frequently to physicians in sectors of Manitoba and Alberta. All courses are developed by Planning Committees comprised of representatives of the primary target audience and specialists in the field. Most conferences are co-sponsored with other agencies such as Departments of the College of Medicine, Continuing Nursing Education, hospital medical staff departments, and other professional groups. Some conferences are designed as interprofessional programs. In addition to the structured program sessions, self-learning resources are featured at most of the conferences, such as displays of current reference texts and other publications, self-assessment quizzes, case-study resources and commercial exhibits.
Major conferences are planned to comply with the MAINPRO-M1 study credit requirements of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Some programs have been approved by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for MAINPRO-C study credits.
Several major conferences are planned to include specialists as part of the target audience and comply with Section 1 of the Framework of educational (CPD) options of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
The following is a list of upcoming conferences and workshops.
Please Note: Information for major conferences will be made available online approximately six to eight weeks prior to the course.
