Heather Tones White
has recently joined the U of S Library as Access Services Librarian.
She is a recent graduate of the University of Western Ontario’s
Master of Library and Information Science program.
Canadian Blood Services recently
announced the appointment of Michael Mehta to a four-year
term on its Board of Directors. Mehta is a professor in the Dept.
of Sociology and Chair of the Sociology of Biotechnology Program.

Lorne Babiuk,
director of the U of S Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization,
has been named the recipient of the 2005 Prix Galien Canada Research
Award. The award is presented annually to a researcher judged by a
panel of scientists to have made the most significant contribution
to pharmaceutical research in Canada.
Ajay Dalai,
professor in Chemical Engineering and Canada Research Chair in Bio-energy
and Environmentally Friendly Chemical Processing, has received a three-year
appointment to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Society for
Chemical Engineering.
