Red Seal Journeyman Certification / Apprenticeship Training
The University Food Services is one of the largest sponsors of the Cook Apprenticeship Program. In this three year program, a student will work full time under the sponsorship and apprenticeship contract of a Red Seal Journeyman Chef and attend class one day a week to achieve Journeyman Cook or Red Seal Chef status in the Cook trade. Journeyman certification is provincially recognized and Red Seal certification is inter-provincial. There are currently five cook apprentices and five Red Seal Journeyman Chefs within Food Services.
