Meal Plan Advantages

The Residence Dining Program offers many advantages over retail dining on campus. A few of these advantages are: convenience, variety, flexibility, and cost savings.

Convenience:

No grocery shopping
No transportation costs in buying meals and groceries
No meal preparation time
No dishes to wash
More time for your studies and for socializing
Less cash to carry which also adds up to less bank fees

Variety:

Breakfast offers an assortment of juices, milk, tea and coffee
large selection of cereals, fresh fruit, assorted pastries
yogurt, cheese, breads and condiments
Hot breakfast is offered on Wednesday featuring waffle grill
eggs, meat protein, potatoes
Brunch offers an assortment of juices, milk, tea and coffee

Each meal is designed to provide meal plan holders with a variety of healthy choices each day. A vegetarian entrée is available at every meal.

Flexibility

If, due to class commitments, you are not able to have a meal in the Dining Room you may use your RCC (residence cash card) for lunch. Please see the Meal Plan Agreement section for more details or listed below under Meal Plan agreement.

On this meal plan you receive a 5% saving as you are not charged GST.

Savings of over 40% off Retail Outlet Rates
Depending on the quantity of food you consume, you have the opportunity to save in excess of 40% off the retail prices.

If you choose to eat lunch late at one of our retail outlets, you will be granted the equivalent of $6.90 (goods not subject to GST) on your meal plan. This amount is greater than the amount you are charged for lunches.

Complimentary RCC ( Residence Cash Card) Dollars

Each member of the Residence Dining Program will be gifted with $25 in Residence Cash Card (RCC) dollars per term. Dates of activation of these funds for term 1 is September 18, 2011 and Term 2 –January 18, 2012. Funds expire April 30, 2012. Upon moving out of Voyageur Place, unused RCC, can no longer be used.

Plan A = 19 meals/week + gift of $50.00 ($25.00/term ) RCC.
Plan B = 17 meals/week + $400.00 RCC + gift of $50.00 ($25.00/term)

 Six Special Theme Events

During your stay in Voyageur Place, our Executive Chef will plan and arrange six special theme buffets. Menus usually consist of a carved roast and or boneless chicken breast, specialty salads, assorted fresh baked breads, and a wide selection of specialty dessert.

Theme dinners are a way to celebrate the holidays and the end of term.

During Exams
Weekend Hot Breakfast, in addition to your weekend brunches, are offered on the weekends following the last day of classes until the last day of exams.

In addition exam treats, beverage and a snack, are delivered to residence on Mondays and Wednesday between the dates of the last day of classes and the last day of exams.
