Student Treatment Clinic

The College of Dentistry’s Student Treatment Clinic is a full service dental facility. Patient care is delivered by students with state-of-the-art technology in an educational setting under the supervision of licensed dentists at all times. The Student Treatment Clinic provides the setting for the clinical practice component required for completion of the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).

    Become a Patient

If you wish to become a Student Treatment Clinic patient, please phone (306) 966-5056. You will be asked to make a consultation appointment to determine whether your dental needs can be met by our students. There is no charge for this appointment other than radiographs, should any be taken.

Once you are accepted as a patient you will be scheduled for a diagnosis appointment where you will receive a thorough examination and a treatment plan is established.

Your name will then go onto a waiting list. Patients are assigned to students according to our students' level of training and requirements.

As treatment is provided by students, treatment times are normally longer than would be experienced in private dental practices. Depending upon the nature of the treatment, appointments range in duration from 30 minutes up to three hours.

    Fees and Payment Information

The fees are reduced by up to 40% of those set out by the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan’s Fee Guide each year.

Payment by cash, cheque, debit card, or credit card must be made at each appointment for the treatment received. The University of Saskatchewan Dental Clinic does not direct bill insurance companies. Insurance companies reimburse the patient directly after payment is made to the dental clinic.

    Location and Parking

The student dental clinic is located at 103 - 105 Wiggins Road, two buildings north of College Drive. Metered parking is available.

    Hours of Operation Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The student dental clinic is open during the academic year from the end of August until the beginning of June, with only limited or emergency treatment available during the Christmas and summer breaks.
