  • 2008 Kent McLeod Memorial Classic Golf Tournament     Jul 30, 2008
    Join the College of Dentistry for the 2008 Kent McLeod Memorial Golf Tournament which will be held on Saturday, September 6th, 2008 at the Moon Lake Golf and Country Club in Saskatoon. The 18 hole shotgun start begins at 1:00 p.m. Space is limited so get your registration in early to avoid disappointment. If you cannot make it to golf, an after-golf social will be held at the course. Transportation to the course is available.

    Proceeds from the tournament will go towards Dental student scholarships.

  • College of Dentistry 2008 Fall Welcome     Jul 30, 2008

    On Saturday, September 20, 2008 the Saskatchewan Dental Students Society (SDSS) will be hosting the 2008 Fall Welcome.  The event will be held at TCU Place with cocktails at 6:00 p.m., dinner at 7:00 p.m., and program at 8:15 p.m.

    This year’s annual Fall Mixer will be a Western Mixer for College of Dentistry Full and Part Time Faculty, Staff, and Students. The event will be held on Monday, August 25, 2008 at Champêtre County. Games, Food, Square Dance, DJ will be part of the fun. See the attached poster for more details.

  • A Lecture by Dr. Lorne Golub     Jan 04, 2008
    In celebration of the University of Saskatchewan Centennial, the College of Dentistry and Oral Science are co-sponsoring a lecture by Dr. Lorne Golub.

    Dr. Golub received his DMD in 1963 and his M.Sc. in Oral Biology in 1965 both from the University of Manitoba. After completing his specialty training in periodontics and a post-doctoral fellowship in research in periodontics (dental school) and orthopedics (medical school) at Harvard, he returned to Canada to teach at his alma mater in 1968. In 1973, he joined the faculty at the School of Dental Medicine at SUNY at Stony Brook in New York, where he continues today. Dr. Golub has published over 250 papers plus a number of books and chapters focusing on his years of research. His discoveries with his research team have generated over 35 patents and he has received numerous grants, awards and honors.

    The lecture will be held on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 12:30pm in the SaskTel Theatre, Royal University Hospital. The title of the lecture is "Host-Modulation Therapy: A New Two-Pronged Approach to the Treatment of Periodontal (and other) Diseases."
