Kungsör is a town of 8200 located west of Stockholm. It is located at 59 degrees north latitude and is surrounded by fertile agricultural land, interspersed with wooded areas.

Many people live in Kungsör but work elsewhere. It is located less than twenty kilometres from two other centres and a single office serves all three communities for many governmental and non-governmental agencies.

The community of Kungsör consists mostly of individual homes surrounded by modest gardens. The manufacturing and mining sector employs the most people followed by health and social care. The community has mainly small industrial enterprises, and electronics and rail transport. Environmental conservation has been a priority in the municipality and numerous wooded areas are interspersed with residential areas.
