Cumberland Regional College is where adults complete their high school education. The College also offers counselling, a learning centre for adults waiting to get into upgrading, a selection of trades courses such as cabinet making and welding and coordinates delivery of university classes in the region. There are three Indian reservations near Melfort and the majority of the students in adult upgrading in 2003 were aboriginal.

Students from the college's programs in four different centres are bussed into Melfort for the Anual Basic Education Volleyball Tournament.

Older Workers in Agriculture Project
A joint initiative of provincial and federal governments, this project ran from 2001-2003 and provided skill upgrading and career counselling for farmers between the ages of 55 to 64 in the North East region of Saskatchewan. In order to have 40 participants to meet the federal guidelines, the age range was extended to 50-64 and participants from outside the region were accepted. One-on-one contact was the main key to success. The project is over now and Dorothy is no longer working for the college.
