 1ITEP Book Launch: Huge Success!

Thank-you to everyone who came out to support the Indian Teacher Education Program (ITEP) in a celebration of its student creative writers in launching their second anthology, Where I’m From: ITEP Creative Writing, 2005 – 2013, on April 10th 2014.

The book contains 126 poets and their clear-eyed, life-affirming, honest, funny, sad, visionary, and pugnacious poetry.



The Silence Broken... AGAIN!

More than 300 people filled the Broadway Theatre on Friday, March 21, to hear comedian Elvira Kurt kick of the 17th annual Breaking the Silence Conference, sponsored by the College of Education.  This year was a recording breaking success with over 160 participants, including 42 high school students, registered for the full 3-day conference. Don Cochrane, Emeritus Professor from the College and chief organizer of the conference, was honoured with the Peter Corren Award for Outstanding Achievement.

The Saturday portion of the conference featured panels, films, three sessions of breakout workshops, and a spoken word performance with jazz accompaniment. Click HERE for full conference details.
