Christine and Brenda
will be traveling to Reggio Emilio, Italy to study early childhood
education programs.
This Canadian Study Tour is organized by Reggio Children, a mixed
public-private company that the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, along
with other interested subjects established in 1994. In 1991, Newsweek
Magazine identified the Diana School of Reggio Emilia, Italy as the
best childhood institution in the world.

Christine Danyluk is currently teaching Pre-Kindergarten
in the mornings and Grade 3 in the afternoons at the Canora Junior
Elementary School in the Good Spirit School Division. She is
currently enrolled in the Special Education Certificate program
in the College of Education and is participating in the review
of the draft of the Early Learning Program Guide Saskatchewan
Learning. |

Brenda Dyer is currently teaching
French Immersion Kindergarten at Ecole Holy Cross School in the
Prince Albert Catholic School Division. Her dedication to teaching
French Immersion Kindergarten has been an incentive to become
involved in division, provincial and national initiatives to
enhance the delivery of the French Immersion Kindergarten Program. |
The Kirkpatrick Travel Award is administered jointly by the University
of Saskatchewan College of Education, the University of Saskatchewan
Alumni Association, and the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation.
The annual award celebrates the contribution the late Dean Emeritus
Balfour Kirkpatrick made to education in Saskatchewan.
