Western Red Lily Centennial Project

SaskPower and Shand Greenhouse have come together to undertake a unique project in celebration of Saskatchewan's Centennial year in 2005. They have propagated 100 000 Western Red Lily bulbs for select distribution around our province

SaskPower would like to encourage schools to apply for these bulbs to be planted in natural habitat gardens. These gardens are an ecologically friendly endevour that will bring enjoyment to students, staff, and the surrounding neighbourhood.

Teacher-researchers at the University of Saskatchewan have put together educational materials to accomany these bulbs for elementary, middle years, and high school level in compliance with Saskatchewan's Evergreeen Curriculum. These are available so that teachers have ready made materials to go along with the bulbs.
