The Department of Educational Administration is involved in six areas that relate to its mission:
Research and scholarship that results in publication of reports, articles and books The department contributes extensively to the scholarly literature related to its various disciplines, as well as to professional journals and through policy studies and research reports.
Graduate research programs leading to the M.Ed. and Ph.D. degrees These thesis programs provide an opportunity for graduate students to pursue knowledge through research related to an area of personal concern, normally on a full-time basis.
Policy research and consultation in a wide range of settings -- Professors, affiliates, and, often, students, contribute to educational improvement and reform through efforts in planning, implementation, evaluation, policy analysis, and many forms of consultation. Though activities are mainly in Saskatchewan school systems, there is some involvement interprovincially and internationally.
Masters program for practitioners The M.Ed. serves practitioners from both school and adult education settings in both part-time and full time formats.
Undergraduate Teacher Education activities The Department contributes to internship supervision and offers the required undergraduate course in the Legal and Institutional Contexts. In addition, three popular electives are offered regularly: school effectiveness, teacher leadership, and organizational behaviour.
Outreach seminars and workshops that link practising educators to the agendas and insights of leading educational thinkers and leaders. These are planned and organized through our Educational Leadership Unit and take place both at the University and in off-campus settings.
