Expectations for Pre-internship Field Study

SUNTEP: EDST 213 Apply for EDST Placement (application not available at this time)
- Focus primarily on PGP Goal One.
- Team-teach at least two to three sequential lessons per week in the same class.
- This may be taught with the cooperating teacher or colleagues.
- Prepare lesson plans and state the PGP subgoal for which you are attaining "evidence".
- Plan, teach, and write reflections with your colleague (use the PGP goal sheets to record evidence and reflections).
- Ask for informal feedback from a peer coach, faculty member or cooperating teacher.
- When not acting as instructional leader in the classroom, be involved by assisting the teacher, tutoring individuals, and working with small groups
- Make an opportunity to observe in an unfamiliar teaching area.
Complete coursework assignments

- Focus primarily on Goal One, Two, and Three as outlined in the PGP.
- Plan and teach a series of three to five sequential lessons per week to a large group (same class).
- Prepare lesson plans which include a section on assessment and the PGP sub-goal for which you are attaining "evidence".
- These lessons may be planned and/or implemented individually or with the cooperating teacher or colleague.
- Elicit feedback from a peer coach or cooperating teacher and record examples of "evidence" and "reflections" on your lessons in the PGP goal sheets.
- Discuss feedback together in a post-conference.
- When not acting as instructional leader in the classroom, be involved by assisting the teacher, tutoring individuals, and working with small groups.
- Make an opportunity to observe in an unfamiliar teaching area.
