Educational Media Access & Production (EMAP) equipment services unit provides day-to-day equipment booking, installations, training and consultations across campus to ensure all appropriate areas of the campus are equipped and ready to support teaching, learning, and research activities. EMAP makes recommendations for future purchases of new equipment and campus wide development to ensure the equipment meets the emerging needs of users. EMAP also plans and executes installations and maintenance that cooperates closely with academic needs and administration priorities.

If you would like a demonstration on how to use the Education media carts, please contact educ_support@usask.ca
Booking
College of Education Faculty, Staff and Graduate Students may book media carts by emailing educ_support@usask.ca (This email address goes to all TACT members) You may make advance bookings for the whole term if you are using it for your class. Undergraduate Students are required to have their instructor book a media cart for them.
Pick Up and Return
College of Education Media carts may be picked up and returned to room 3130 between the hours of 8 am and 4:30 pm. There is a schedule on the door that will tell you which cart is booked for you. If you are using a cart on the weekend we schedule it so that you can pick it up Friday afternoon and then return it on Monday morning. If you have an early morning booking during the week, you can often pick up the cart the afternoon before, if no one is using it.
When using the carts:
Plug in the main electrical cord on the side of the media cart – everything else is hooked up to that.
Power on the LCD projector first.
Power on the computer. (located on a slide out shelf)
Please be patience and let the computer boot up completely before you start to open programs or insert your memory stick.
When the computer has finished its start up, you may load your presentation using a memory key, etc. You may copy your file to the computer desktop if you like.
Problems?
If you have problems with a media cart ask any TACT member to help you: Graham Walker, Brenda Mergel, Bryce Taylor
or email educ_support@usask.ca - (email goes to all TACT members).
Shut Down:
When you are finished your presentation, shut down the computer and the projector. When you shut the projector power off, you need to press the power button twice because the first time you press the power button a message will appear on the projection screen:“Are you sure you want to turn the power off” at this time, press the power button again to actually shut it down.
Please do not unplug the media cart right away - this allows the fan in the projector to cool down a bit after being powered down. You can hear the fan running for a while after the projector has been turned off.
If for some reason you have changed something on the media cart, please try to remember to change it back when you are done so that everything works as expected for the next person.
