    Dr. Tom Yates is an assistant professor in the Department of Soil Science and winner of the Provost’s College Awards for Outstanding Teaching for the College of Agriculture and Bioresources. His expertise is on soil mapping, delineation and mapping of biophysical units, and Saskatchewan landscapes. His teaching pedagogy and research is grounded on seeking ways to connect resource management and soil science to real-life issues, designing courses for teaching and experiential learning that are transferrable to the work force and non-academic organizations.
