This graph (contributed by Kathleen Murphy) shows the order of Benjy's
flashbacks in a chronology of events. The graph enables us to see patterns
of association between events and the frequency of those events. Benjy's
name change, for example, is a recurring flashback with strong links to
the present. Similarly, we can see that Benjy's recollection of Damuddy's
death is often linked to Caddy's wedding, which occurs ten years later.
We can see which events he tends to avoid, and which he dwells upon. By
charting the frequency of arrivals and departures in each flashback, we
gain an insight into Benjy's psyche.
