Provides general oversight for departmental activities and related services and processes. Responsible for strategic planning for the department and for ensuring connections with other campus units. Has oversight responsibility for the Budget Framework Project related to implementation of future budget processes leading to eventual development of a comprehensive budget covering all university activities.

Provides financial analysis for major capital projects throughout their life cycle, in accordance with the University's major capital governance process. This includes working with Facilities Management Division and capital project sponsors regarding development of capital and operating projections , development of cash flow models, comparison of actual results with projections, and identification and follow-up of funding sources.

Provides coordination including planning, monitoring, and reporting for a comprehensive strategic leveraging program aimed at identifying and securing funding for the University’s capital renewal needs.  This includes working effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders across campus and various levels of government to identify creative opportunities and resolve issues and challenges given multiple priorities and competing interests.
