New pay dates for Casual employees paid mid-month

Effective with July 2014 casual hours paid in August, payroll for employees of the University will be payable one working day earlier than in the past.  Mid-month paydays will now be the ninth working day of each month instead of the tenth working day.  Hours worked in July will now be paid on August 14th instead of August 15th.  While the change to the date does not appear significant in August, the benefit is more apparent in September when payday will be September 12th instead of September 15th.

This change is due in part to the implementation of additional automated processes that allows data to be received and updated more efficiently. Please note that although the pay date is being moved up to provide more timely payments to casual employees there is no change to the cutoffs for submitting hours to HRD and Payroll for the hourly payroll.

The new mid-month pay dates to the end of the current year are as follows:

August 14, 2014
September 12, 2014
October 14, 2014
November 14, 2014
December 11, 2014

The dates shown above will be the date pay is deposited in to the employee’s bank account.
