Events Overview

The GMCTE runs a number of events and workshops throughout the year for faculty, sessionals, graduate students, and staff at the University of Saskatchewan, ranging from short one or two hour workshops, to all-day symposia or conferences, to week-long institutes. 

Calendar of Events  Our Calendar of Events lists all workshops and events organized by the GMCTE.  The Calendar of Events page lists the most immediate upcoming events, and also provides a calendar listing all scheduled events by date.  The same Calendar of Events can be found within PAWS under the PD and Training Tab.

Videos  An archive that contains videos from past GMCTE events.

Courses  We offer courses about teaching, learning technologies and professional skills for faculty, staff and graduate students. 

Regular Events

"Over Easy" Flipped Experience  An immersive experience for faculty who want to move the lecture content of their class from face-to-face time to before class. 

Developing a Reflective Teaching Portfolio  For faculty, staff and graduate student teachers who want to develop a teaching portfolio that is intended to fost reflection on teaching experiences to improve learning.

Indigenous Voices Program  A staff and faculty development initiative that aims to create a shared space for dialogue, learning, and collaborative action to catalyze individual and systemic change at the University of Saskatchewan.

Course Design Institute  The GMCTE offers course design institute that helps walk any instructor who is designing or redesigning a course through an innovative course design process. 

Annual Events

Celebration of Teaching  Held annually to celebrate exceptional teaching at the U of S.

Annual SoTL Symposium  The Centre for Discovery in Learning, in conjunction with the GMCTE, hosts an annual symposium on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) that celebrates the research on higher education teaching and learning conducted at the University of Saskatchewan, as well as to provide people new to SoTL an opportunity to learn more about it.
