Step 1: Analysis

In this step of the course design process, you will analyze your learners and the context in which learning is taking place. These are called Learner Analysis and Context Analysis. Some questions you will ask are:

  • Who are the learners?

  • Where will the learning take place?

  • Where will the learning be applied?

To help you answer the questions above, try filling out our  Learner and Context Analysis Template. The videos below will help guide you through this process.

Learner Analysis Survey Template

We have a learner analysis survey templated that you could use with your students. Click here to see what the template looks like: Learner Analysis Template. 

To access and use this template, you will need a Fluid Surveys account. Fluid Surveys is the supported survey tool of the U of S. To get an account, go here: http://fluidsurveys.usask.ca/s/uSask-Upgrade/. Once you have an account and are logged in at http://fluidsurveys.usask.ca/  you can create a survey using this template by following these steps:

  1. Choose the Templates tab.
  2. Select Custom.
  3. Scroll down and select Learner Analysis Survey from the list of templates.
  4. Click Create Survey Using Template.
