She has just published a biography of Abraham Gesner, titled Prophet of the Wilderness. A companion volume of Gesner's writings The Best of Abraham Gesner has been published simultaneously.

David A. Christensen, BSA'58, MSc(MCD), PhD(MCG), a professor of animal and poultry science at the U. of S., has received the Agricultural Institute of Canada's International Recognition Award for his outstanding contribution to agricultural development in the Third World.

Robert A. Forrest, BSP'58, retired from Glaxo-Wellcome in June '94. In recognition of his 35 years of service, the Company established the U. of S. Glaxo-Wellcome R.A. (Bob) Forrest Book Award for $500, to recognize outstanding academic achievement by a 2nd or 3rd year Pharmacy student. This award was recognized in January, 1996. Bob had reactivated his Pharmacy License and is now working part-time in Regina.

He has been honored with two national teaching awards, the 3M Teaching Fellowship and the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers Medal for Distinction in Engineering Education. Earlier this year he was honored by the University of Manitoba with the Dr. and Mrs. Campbell Outreach Award for his efforts to integrate student learning and engineering research with the needs of the industry.
