An annual tradition hosted by the HGSC and Department of History, the Spring Book Pub is an auction fundraiser. The event brings together students near the year-end and generates the annual operating budget for the History Graduate Students Committee (HGSC).

The 2010 book pub was a great success, thanks to the overwhelming support of students and faculty who attended and who generously bid on the many excellent books and items that were up for auction.

Special thanks go to the many businesses and organizations who generously donated items to the pub, to faculty and students who donated books, as well as to Professor Keith Carlson who, once again, successfully and relentlessly auctioned away all the goods. We also gratefully acknowledge the GSA, whose new Grad Commons provided us with a new (and larger!) space.

The proceeds from this event will provide the operating capital for next year’s HGSC, and will contribute to events such as the Dave DeBrou Memorial Lecture, an honorarium for the Keewatin Conference speaker, HGSC social events, and a donation to the Dave Debrou scholarship fund. This is our only source of operating funds for the HGSC, so all of your donations and contributions are greatly appreciated and much needed.

Donations for the book pub are accepted beginning every fall. Please contact us if you have items you'd like to donate.
