Acknowledging Support
The University of Saskatchewan would like to acknowledge all of the partners who contributed to the success of the Pre-Health Professions Club since the pilot began in 2006-07. These include:
- The Saskatchewan Ministry of Health, for their ongoing funding to the Pre-Health Professions Club since 2006;
- The Saskatchewan Ministry of Education, for funding for ongoing support and expansion of the Pre-Health Professions Club 2010 - 2012;
- Health Canada, for providing funding to create the DVD resource, The Healing Professions and promotional material for the Club; and financial support to the Cultural Perspectives stream in 2009 and 2011;
- Regional Health Authorities, for the recruitment of mentors and the use of their facility for hosting sessions;
- Independent practicing health care professionals within the communities, for mentoring and serving as resources and role models to the students;
- Saskatchewan school divisions, for the recruitment of students within the high schools to participate in the Club and a facility for hosting sessions;
- Post-secondary institutions, for the provision of staff to make session presentations and a facility for hosting sessions;
- Saskatchewan Pharmacists Association, for their assistance in identifying community pharmacy mentors; The Saskatchewan Ministry of Education, for funding the the Fort Qu'Appelle, Cultural Perspectives pilot in 2009, 2010
