Research Day

The executive of the Society of Postdoctoral Scholars are pleased to invite you to the inaugural Research Day Symposium, to be held at the University of Saskatchewan.

When: Monday, September 19th 2016, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Where: Louis's Loft, 93 Campus Drive Saskatoon, SK

This symposium will bring together postdoctoral fellows from the University of Saskatchewan and local academic and industy professionals for an opportunity to discuss:

  • The postdoctoral experience - challenges and prospects
  • Career and employment opportunities 
  • Research currently undertaken by PDFs at the University of Saskatchewan
  • The transition from academia to the private industry sector

The event also aims to facilitate and encourage relationships between postdoctoral fellows of the University, and successful professionals of local industry. This meeting is an opportunity for postdoctoral fellows to showcase their many and varied skills, and for industry members to meet and network with these exceptional researchers. At the conclusion of formal presentations at 6:30 p.m., we will host a catered reception, where University postdocs will present posters describing the varied research being undertaken, and in-depth discussion and networking with industry and academic professionals can take place.

If you are interested in presenting a poster, please select a poster ticket in addition to a general admission ticket. You will receive an email confirmation containing poster requirements and an abstract template; please complete and return this abstract template by Monday, 12th September. Please note that there are a limited number of poster spots available and spots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
