Past and present authors of articles and reviews should be aware that, as of the summer of 2005, Amazon.com and a handful of other online retailers have begun to make CJH content available for sale electronically, at a price of $5.95 US per document. A number of other academic journals are in the same position. Our understanding is that Thomson Gale, without our permission, is responsible for having released CJH material to Amazon.
The CJH bears no responsibility for this development, was never consulted about it, and, so far as we know, gains nothing financially from it. Like other journals that share this predicament, we are currently endeavoring to clarify the legal situation and, if possible, compel Amazon to remove CJH content from its pages. Any complaints or inquiries should be directed to Amazon and Thomson Gale.
